(SomaliNet) Mogadishu - Union of Islamic Courts in Mogadishu today spoke of the clashes between Counter Terrorism Alliance and a local group which has allegedly ties with Islamic courts, saying the local militias stood up for dealing with the insecurity in the area.
The leader of Union of Islamic Courts Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed who held a press conference at his headquarter in Mogadishu said the militias who earlier occupied the school building in Karan district were local militias determined to establish security.
"The Islamic courts are in favour of the local militias who were devoted to secure their settlement" the Sheik said adding that they are ready to stand with anyone who tries to work on the security in the city.
Sheik Sharif also addressed the recent secret meeting in Jowhar, 90km north of Mogadishu by the counter terrorism alliance, saying they were receiving money from foreign officers to wage war in the capital again.
He said Somalia has many enemy countries including America, Israel and Ethiopia, those he said employ Somali factions who sought to wage war whenever peace signals and receive funds for fight against terrorists in Somalia.
The statement of Sheik Sharif, the leader of Union of Islamic Courts, came as militias loyal to Muse Sudi who is member of counter terrorism alliance stormed and seized the control of school building held by militia backed by Islamic courts, that left at least two people dead and three others wounded.
The situation is now stable, with the transport and the business resumed normally.
