Somalia: Starvation Levels Decrease In Somalia

(SomaliNet) The World Food Programme has announced that starvation levels have decreased after the water levels increased in Somalia.

The urgency in some regions has deacreased according to the WFP spokesman for Somalia, Sa'id Warsame. ''There is an assesment on the level of the harvest in some Somali regions as well as rain covered areas.'' Said Sa'id.

He also confirmed that there are some areas that are still facing food shortages in the country. Mr.Sa'id also expressed concern on the recent attack on the WFP convoy by militiamen in Dhobley district in Lower Jubba region.
