Mohamed Abdi Farah

(SomaliNet) The authorities of Islamic Courts in Somalia said on Wednesday they caught several people thought to have been deported from abroad and landed at the Mogadishu airport.

The Islamists said they would go under investigations over where they came from, blaming the neighbors for denying the rights of the Somali refugees who were in transit in their countries.

The head of information department of Islamic Courts Sheikh Abdirahin Ali Mudey confirmed today the news to the local media saying there were refugees whose rights were stripped and then thrown to Mogadishu. He did not mention the exact number of the expelled refugees.

“They are Somali nationals and are under investigation over why they were deported to Somalia,” Sheikh Mudey said. “Many people deported from outside countries particular from western countries were on board latest flights to Mogadishu,”

He accused Ethiopia and Kenya of exploiting the rights of the Somali refugees being extradited from Europe through their counties.

“The Islamic Courts are launching a big operation on securing the lost rights of the Somali refugees,” he said.

He appealed the world countries whenever they are going to expel Somali immigrants they should give them their rights.

The issues came a day after the authorities of the self styled republic of Somaliland arrested three Belgian policemen who arrived in Hargeisa on a flight from Ethiopia with a man they had deported from Belgium. The authorities said the three immigration officials neither had visas to enter Somaliland nor had informed Somaliland about the deportee.
