(SomaliNet) The council of Islamic Courts (CIC) controlling Somalia capital Mogadishu and other key parts in central and southern of the country has nullified on Sunday 4.5 formula in which Somali tribes shared the power. It originally initiated from the former transitional national government formed in Djibouti in 2000 and the current transitional federal government itself follow the same practice.
The head of information department of the Islamic Courts, Sheikh Abdirahin Mudey has today held a news conference in Mogadishu addressing two major issues ‘defending the religion and the nation’ and total banning on deforestation of the environment in Somalia’
He has talked a lot about the problems among Somalis during the civil war era and the best solution to that was to practice the Islamic religion and the justice is in the Islam. “After 16 years of difficulties, Somali people received back their comprehension and it is needed that Somalis should reconcile over their inner conflict and also stick to their religion of Islam,” he said.
Sheikh Ali Mudey strongly condemned the system of discrimination among Somalis and how the Somali tribes shared the power which was four tribes and half (4.5). “From now and then, it should be known that all Somalis are equal and consist of five main tribes,” he added.
When discussing about the federalism in which the current government based, he has ruled out the existence the method of federal saying it meant to divide the nation of Somalia that are in same religion, race, culture and language and also used to end their difference under a tree as traditionally.
“It is an exclusion to drive us into abroad country for 16 years and not achieved any breakthrough on that, so we (Islamic Courts) ask the international community to let us free for the determination of our future and reconcile among our differences and also to have talks in Mogadishu since it is stable and relaxes with peace as the world officials saw by their eyes on the tranquillity prevailing in the city,” Sheikh Ali Mudey said.
He stressed there is no need for IGAD troops deployment in Somalia because of peace, referring the recent decision by IGAD military experts in Nairobi that it should be necessary to send thousands of troops from East Africa to Somalia within the next few weeks or months.
“It is appalling matter that IGAD governments in which we were among the states took part its foundation as the world did aware of became the base of invasions to Somalia,” Sheikh Muey said adding “we would not accept from IGAD member states to lead our historic enemy of Ethiopia to our country,”
He has accused the Kenyan envoy to Somalia Mohamed Abdi Affey of giving false colour about the facts in Somalia after visiting Mogadishu in three times since the Islamic Court took control of the capital last June.
“Since the Kenyan envoy to Somalia Mr. Affey who is Somali-Kenyan man had arrived in Mogadishu in fact finding mission and set his eyes on the peace in the capital, we expected from him to say there was peace and stability and there was no need for any foreign intervention in the country but if he could not tell the truth we would reveal the truth itself and we suggest the Kenyan government to take tough action against Affey because he is not worthy to be a Kenyan envoy to Somalia,” Sheikh Ali Mudey said.
He praised the governments of Djibouti, Eritrea, Sudan and Uganda on their neutral role in the Somalia politics and stood in negative position against the deployment of foreign troops in Somalia as peace resumed there.
“I is pity that Kenya and Ethiopia governments are offending its neighbour and want to occupy our independent country, but we say to them, you can afford to do so, if you go one step forward into our territory you must bear in mind for battle,” He said adding that Ethiopia had attacked Somalia in 1964 four years after Somali’s independence and once again both Ethiopia and Somalia engaged in bloody conflict in 1977, but notably Somalia had defended its territory from its enemy.
Sheikh Ali Mudey lastly mentioned that the long running anarchy condition has caused a severe depletion on the country’s resources. “The Islamic Courts reached a decisive action against cutting plants and exporting the metal scrapes also the charcoal and it would be crime to do that,”
