(SomaliNet) The Ethiopian backed interim government forces have blocked on Wednesday the road which links KM4 area to Tarbunka square in south of Mogadishu, Somalia capital after last night’s gunfight.

The allied forces have gone searching house to house near their barracks to prevent more attacks from the elements.

Witnesses told Somalinet that there is still sporadic gunfire from the area the clashes.

Around 7:10 pm local time last night, unidentified gunmen riding in two small cars attacked a building near Safahi hotel which houses the Ethiopian-Somalia forces.

The militiamen fired Rocket Propel Grenade at the forces, then followed explosions and gunfire killing at least three people and injuring six others.

According to the medical sources, one of the dead was a government soldier while three others were wounded in the clashes, as the rest were civilians.

In today’s operation, the Ethiopian backed government forces confiscated guns from shops near the suspected locations.

“Ethiopian and Somali soldiers came to us told us that they are going to inspect and then began searching and breaking into the shops…they took four riles and a pistol,” said one of the local residents.

During their operation, the forces also found a pick up track with punctured tire on the street, which is believed to be left by the assailants.

Elsewhere in Mogadishu, the Ethiopian forces got under attack by the local militia on Wednesday.

Gunmen have thrown Rocket Propel Grenade at a convoy belonging to the Ethiopian troops that were passing near Aarafat hospital in northwest of the capital.

But the attackers missed the target as the Ethiopians responded with gunfire.

No casualties have reported on the Ethiopian soldiers.
