(SomaliNet) One of the top Somali’s Islamist leaders is reported to be preparing for trip to Europe in the coming days where he will meet with Somali communities there. Reliable sources confirmed Somalinet on Tuesday.
Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed, the leader of executive council of the ousted Islamic Courts who is now under the custody of Kenyan authorities will depart to London, the UK capital, as Somali diplomats in London told Somalinet.
Some of the Somali communities in Europe are now preparing to welcome Sheik Ahmed in Europe to pave the way for reconciliation conference.
Unconfirmed reports say after meeting with the Somali community in London Sheik Ahmed will tour other countries in Europe where similar communities are getting in wide preparing to welcome Sharif’s arrival.
Earlier, the Italian Prime Minister Romano Brodi had announced that his country would host reconciliation conference for all parts in Somalia to form broadly based government.
Somali Prime Minister Ali Gedi said on Monday that the reconciliation conference will be held inside the country.
The US and EU want to form an inclusive government for Somalia to help the country out of the crisis.
