Somalia: Government residence hit by a suicide bomber

(SomaliNet) 11 people were killed in the latest suicide attack on a major hotel around KM4 roundabout, south of Mogadishu where the Somalia’s government officials are based.

A suicide bomber driving a car packed with explosives attacked Ambassador Hotel located in an overcrowded area where the AU Ugandan peacekeepers man.

Witnesses told Somalinet that the car exploded outside of the hotel causing the death of 11 persons mostly pedestrians.

This follows yesterday's suicide attack on Ethiopian forces in Afgoye town, 30km south of the capital. There was no immediate casualty on the Ethiopian forces as the major road was closed by the Ethiopian soldiers for security reasons.

No one has yet to claim the responsibility for either of the two attacks.

It is the fourth time Islamic militants have targeted the Ethiopian bases in Somalia.
