Pakistan: Six arrested over rape of 16yr old girl Wed. January 31, 2007 01:32 pm.- By Bonny Apunyu. - (SomaliNet) Six men have been arrested by police in southern Pakistan in connection with the kidnap and rape of a 16-year-old girl. The six men are among the eleven men accused of carrying out the attack near a Pakistan town of Ubaro, about 530km (330 miles) from Karachi. According to the girl's family, the rape was in revenge for her cousin eloping with a female relative of the accused. The rape of the 16 year old girl was confirmed by doctors after she underwent tests in hospital. According to reports, the rape took place on the morning of 27 January in the village of Habib Labano near Ubaro and the girl’s father filed a complaint the same day in Ubaro police station, saying a group of 11 men had kidnapped his daughter, raped her and forced her to walk home naked. But the police had initially expressed skepticism over the attack and rape not until it was confirmed in a medical examination carried out on Tuesday.
