Was Islam spread by the Sword (violence) mainly or was is spread by non violent means???

What does written history say about this and what do you think is/are the consequences????

I think both, cawar, but vast majority of people converted to Islam because it's a peacefull religion....

The only thing i feel proud when ask is religion all the others are irrelevent....

I wish we can all imbrace islam and follow it truely instead of pledging our legions to qabiils....

History shows it was spread through a combination of the two. But so was Christianity. Religions, like all other ideas, are always spread through those two.

No the Pope was wrong: Islam is far more rational than Christianity. The latter depends on a whole load more crap about miracles than Islam does.
