Study on Somali Faraxs by N.A.A.F.

Post by AbdiWahab252 »

The National Association for the Advancement of Faraax (N.A.A.F.) has produced a short paper on the Common Somali Faraax. This is to assist those who are unfamiliar with Faraaxs and looks to promote better understanding of this ENDANGERED creatures:

Protecting the Common Somali FARAX

The common Somali male, species "Farax Somalinus Africanus" is in danger. Their numbers have been decimated in the 30 year old Somali conflict. Thousands of Faraxs were forced to flee the Somali civil war and poured out of the country into exile.

There are four common Farax family groups:

1. Taxiile Farax - The largest Farax group. When not driving his taxi, Taxiile Farax tends to gather with other members of his family in the local donut/Somali restaurant. Taxiile Farax migrate to their feeding grounds at dawn and dusk. Being nocturnal creatures, taxiile faraxs are most activity between 8pm to 6am (due to driving their vehicles). You may catch taxiile farax on any given weekend after being forced to take a cab (for lack of a vehicle or indulging too much). In the presence of the Taxiile Farax, one must be guarded about his or her behavior or risk being thrown out of the taxi.

2. Akhwaan Farax – A distinct family of Taxiile Farax. This family can be spotted by their long manes and Capri pants. Large congregations of akhwaan faraxs gather outside the local masjid every Friday. The Akhwan Farax numbers have grown as more faraxs from other family groups migrate into this tight knit community. The best place to spot an Akhwaan Farax is either at the masjid or your local Dahabshiil. When approaching this type of farax, women folk are advised not to look them in the eye.

3. Gaalified Farax – The most westernized branch of the Farax family. These faraxs have adopted/assimilated into their host societies. You can spot them wearing western clothes and often have gaalified names such Moe (for Mohamed). This group is the most arrogant of the Faraxs especially those with post-high school degrees (arrogance increases with the degree). The best places to spot the Gaalified Farax is in your local watering hole (bar) or club. DO NOT under any circumstances talk to the Gaalified Farax in SOMALI, as it will elicit hostility in him due to his attempt to hide his Somali origins.

4. Badiye Farax – Cultural conservatives who continue to act like they live in Somalia. These faraxs have rejected all things western except for cell phones, cable, public assistance and PALTALK. Favorite past times of these badiye faraxs are to gather around at coffee shops to engage in an age old custom, "FADHI KU DIIRIR" It is an ancient Somali debate art form that makes HARDBALL look soft where the debating groups engage in verbal duels. WARNING: DO NOT try to engage the Badiye Farax in any debate as he will verbally thrash and humiliate you.

This report has been compiled to promote understanding between Faraxs and their communities.
