Trust me Zackabdul, we do NOT want the agriculture the rest of the world has.
There crop varieties are standardised, which means they are inferior to the local varieties which have built up natural immunities to the local pests. Moreover, the seeds have probably been patented by US Agribusinesses, who like playing with the genetics of the food. They require lots of artificial fertilizer, which is expensive, and increases the yeild of the crop as the price of the soil and its natural health. Intensive modern style agriculture leeches some 86 beneficial nutrients from the soil, where the fertiliser replaces only three.
You'll also require pesticides and herbicides, which naturally select the most resistant pests as being the ones and only ones who are able to breed, which means all subsequent progeny are immune to the pesticides, which make more powerful pesticides necessary, which then naturally selects the stronger immune pests for the next generation of breeding stock. It creates a vicious circle, and a dependency on oil companies.
Pesticides, especially those coded into crops by Agribusinesses, have been linked to Colony Collapse Syndrome in bees. Without bees, there is no pollination, which means no plant growth, which means no food, which equals disaster.
The best, long-term method of argiculture is the organic stuff that uses NATURAL fertilisers, relies on local plants resistant to local pests, are free from reliance on pesticides and fertilisers, thus reducing your costs, and requiring no hormones for growth and or storability.
