^^Ali madaxweyn dir of the Gurgure according to the southren dir of mudug region was the leading head of the Axmed Gurey soldiers and Axmed Ibraahim ghazi was a Gurgure him self. His wife Baatiyo Delwabero was of the Jarso clan. The Gurgure along with their kinsman the Guure/Akisho/ were know in the 1400's as Maanguudo by the oromo's and Afar muslins. Maan(wisdom) Guudo (high). As a matter of fact when the Gurgura Ali Madaxweyn ruled the Ifat they sent the first Islamic missions to Northern Somalia as Sheikh Awbarkhadle, Aw Buube, Awbare, and other sheikhs to the South like Aw Hussen al Bale who was of Guure/Gurgure origin. All the Ifat kings Salah Din who is buried in Zaila and his ancestor Umar Din was of Ali Madaxweyn Dir. All the Northern and Southern Dir clans whether Isaq, Suure, Gadbuursi or Isasa are related to the ancient Gurgura.you see we are the ones who made you believe in to islam while you was eating rocks and whorshipping your god waaq at caabudwaaq

Let me tell you the reasoning behind this.
First of all Awdal has never had a Darood presense, and this is where the history was bieng played.
We are talking about the 1500's 1528-1545 to be exact, but somali history is much older, and much of it is DIR history.
The Jihad of Imam Ahmed gurey was not the first war that involved muslims and the christian abbysinians, it was the 5th war.
Have you heard of the abbysianian king Camda seyon and his war against the muslims.
The ethiopians under Camde seyon conquered the muslim sultanates of Gojjam, Damot, and Hadiyya in a 6 year campaign, then crossed the awash and defeated Ifat or Awfat( which controled awdal and harar). This was the greatest defeat of the muslims in the horn and the first time somalis were hit that hard, because somali cities like saylac, and amoud which were heavily populated were burnt to the ground and countless people massacred.
During his campaign his court offcials and poets wrote the " The Glorius Victories" in poem form and it is among the poems that the name Somali was first mentioned written, and it was after listing the defeated
peoples, the "awdali (afars) , harla, haddiya, gurage and also the werjeh, and gaal( warjeex and gacal who were gurgure dir ).
We are talking of hundreds of years of Dir history in the area when ilkayar were supposedly still a small clan in the daroor valley and cabuudwaaq
