Can an employer IT hack into private Yahoo email boxes??

they can sue you and ask you to pay back part of your salary b/c you obviously did not do any of the work they paid you to do. they will probably make an example of you if you're not careful.

The answer of your question is "NO". Period. The geek in your IT department can access and read your outlook account(company mails accounts) because he/she has access to all mail servers and accounts. Thus, your manager/employer can access your outlook account emails(company mails accounts).

However, he/she can not access your Yahoo/hotmail/Gmail account. He has no access to it. The only way he/she can do that is if he/she knows your password. But then anyone can hack if he/she guesses or knows your password--even your 7 year old naphew!

Hacking into your account violates both privacy laws and Yahoo's privacy policies, so both you and Yahoo can sue your employer.
