Generally I've noticed most reverts are good people, who are really hungary to learn as much about the deen as possible. Some even a bit extreme.

But why do somali's and other muslims make a big deal out of cadaan converts more so than other converts/reverts?

its a bit of a shock thats why

a lot of somalis and other muslims never seen a white muslim before

we always classify them all as gaalo, kuffar, ect...

for the most part though i dont see the big deal...we all muslim at the end of the day

I've rearely, if ever, had ANYone make a big deal about my reversion. Somali's, for the most part, really couldn't give a fock either way. Just one of the things I like about Somali's.

yeah. there was islamic talk in our area dedicated to converts. whites, black and asians. it was emotional.they were telling us their route to islam, really sad yet wondeful stories. one was a sikh girl who when she converted to islam, didnt tell her parents. her dad, brother and uncles found out, and tried to kill her in the name of "honour killing"
my mom once said to me when she was lecturing me about the religion, that alah said if we (muslims) dont follow the religion as it is. he's going to replace us with people better than us. (she was trying to say allah dont need us, more like we need him.)

Well, I hear about that all the time but I've only known of one Somali girl who has married an cadaan revert...but she went to school with him also so it wasn't a "lining up at the masjid" sort of thing

Maybe in Europe its different, I don't know...

But we live in the West and perhaps in their mind, getting with an cadaan means more status and what not...

RebelLion you're right..people make such a big hoo haa about white converts..it is sooo annoying wallahi.


But please dont start the gender wars!! It is PROVEN that its the MEN of various nationalities who are OBSESSED ....go bonkers even when they see a cadaan convert woman

Fah is right, when we say "gaal".....we dont think of non-muslim madow, indian, indhayar but we automatically assume the person is talking about cadaan. But I see somalis making a big deal about any cadaan that speaks somali fluently.
