Re: US Forces To Be Sent to Georgia
Strategic alignment is different from trade partners, though these often lead to strategic alignments, otherwise China would have a lot more countries aligned with them (and probably will). New Zealand, Australia and all of ASEAN are probably going to end up aligned with China in the next 40 years.
I realize looking at this though that there is a category I forgot, those countries aligned with both the USA and China simultaneously (I suppose there has yet to be a moment where they are asked to choose one or the other) this includes Pakistan, Ethiopia, Uganda and probably a few more.

James dahl have the walanweyn got you hooked on mirra?
Back to the topic --> The US is NOTsending troops to Georgia .
Like I said they already had marines on the ground .It all started when the Russians encroached on Georgian territory in the north eastern corner of the country accused Georgia of letting the chenchens recuperate and reorganize in the Pankisi gorge .
The Goergian military was simply incapable of doing anything about it . Georges Bush came to the rescue as hunting down muslim militants was in vogue back then and still is today. { back in the days where he could "still look into Putin's soul and see a friend
}.
The US enacted the Georgia Train and Equip program in 2002 at a cost of approx 65million $ trained the Georgians in counter insugency . Anyway freshly trained in CI and hoping to impress their ally the Georgians { like the Ukrainians , who're gonna be fu.cked next
}volunteered for taking part in the US adventure in Iraq . One of the conditions of the agreement was that the US in case of an emergency would airlift their troops back home.
Now Russia has everything on lock here ! There's nothing the US can do if the Russians do not let the US navy access the Georgian ports .
Georges Bush is fu.cked !
Long live Vladimir 1 Tsar of Russia

Re: US Forces To Be Sent to Georgia
Georgia has no oil per say , there's an important pipeline that crosses Georgia coming from the Caspean sea to Turkey , delivering 10 mil/barrels a day , it must come under Tsar Vladimir's control
As for Ukraine , google Russian Black Sea fleet .
Sebastopol is their home , problem is Sebastopol is in Ukraine leased to the Russians until 2017.
The Ukrainians threatehned the Russians NOT to let their vessels back into port if the Russian Navy took any part in the shelling of Georgia.
I expect Tsar Valdimir to retake the Crimean peninsula {j/k}

The media are sending out mixed reviews. I seem to remember a Berlin airlift that turned the tide with respect to the Russian occupation of Germany and began the Cold War. Also, a Russian invasion of the Ukraine will almost certainly trigger an additional EU response. I think the safest thing to say is that the crisis is not yet over.

Mr Grant du Somalinet , it comes down to Old Europe vs new Europe , you know the friendly ex communists countries in which the CIA under the Bush administration openly tortures people .
Germany & France are not too eager to let Ukraine and Georgia joining NATO.
Anyway I encourage you all in the US to watch Larry King tonight , Gorbatchev who's born in Ukraine is gonna be on .

Re: US Forces To Be Sent to Georgia
Speaking to reporters about the situation in Georgia, Sen. John McCain denounced the aggressive posture of Russia by claiming that:"in the 21st century nations don't invade other nations."
And Iraq??
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/08/1 ... 18759.html
I want Russia to completely ignore the US, dismember Georgia and move on to Ukraine.
