Habarjeclo came into the SNM limelight after Mujaahid Hadraawi's "Deelalay" peom. Before that, hadii "Waaryaa Habarjeclooy" la yidhaa, only Mujaahid Kaahin would raise his hands.

I would believe you if I did not witness first hand the Habar Jeclo contribution.My own father served time in Madheera.I spent my youth in those towns on my location bar, and they took the full force of the faqash.Your forgetting sxb your Habar Younis dageens were in deep hawd, Habar Jeclo didn't have that luxury.Every couple of months each Habar Jeclo town was attacked and the civillians killed.from doqoshy all the way down to Habura.
I know your Habar Younis and its not your job to put a Habar Jeclo perspective into the discussion, but I hope at least your a fair man.

Lets be perfectly honest here sxb. I agree that Habarjeclo geeljires focked up the Dhulbahantes in every battle in Caynabo and Southern Sanaag. But that was clan wars. I know the Dhulbahante were recieving government support and all that. But still the geeljire on either side were killing each other.

But lets talk about the Somalia National Army. How many times did the actual military of the SNA attached a Habarjeclo village? I think very few. Because the SNA was routed out of the country side as early as 1983-84. The regular SNA troops never ventured outside the main areas near the main cities. They put all their millitary hardware in places like Cadaadley which was one the largest military deput in the country.

In 1988, the Ciidagale were assigned to attach the Airport installation which happens to be their area of operation. The Araps were assigned to capture Birjeex which was a hugely forthfied military base. The Sacad Muuse were assigned to attack from the Radio Hargeisa side. The Isaxaaqs (HY) were assigned to capture the 24th military base in Eastern Hargeisa. The other Habaryoonis clan in Waqooyi Galbeed were assigned to capture Cadaadley military deput which is about 80KM east of Hargeisa. The Ciise Muse were assigned to block Dawga Sheikh in order to prevent any support reaching on either side.

The Habaryoonis in Togdheer were assigned to attack Burco from the Western side and the Habarjeclo, for all their might and numbers, were assigned to attack Eastern Burco military installations.

The Habaryoonis in Sanaag, led by Col Ahmed Mire, was already in control of Erigavo and environs because the clan melitia which occupied that city couldn't withstand the Gadhweyn wariors. The Dhulbahante and Warsangali melitia were routed out of Ceerigaabo in less than 30 minutes.

So sxb, as you can see, the Garxajis was fighting from East to West. And also in the Hawd as well. Because as you know, the Cagdheers where fighting for Siyad Barre's regime.

Sxb I dont deny Habar Younis put a shift in as far as the liberation was concerned.But I'm talking from experience and can confirm to you wallahi the theatre of war has a stones through away from the habar jeclo dagaans. So even if Habar Jeclo wanted to sit it out they didn't have that option, they had to fight for survival.You will agree that most Habar Jeclo towns are within somalilands borders, and the SNM wasn't strong enough to defend these towns.These were being attacked till burco was taken.

But anyway again.....Habar Younis I'm not wanting to short change them.
