And theres alot of Somali ppl who have dual citizenship in both Canada and US -im pretty sure most were gained through illegal means -and if thats the case then...alot of Somali people are in for a rude awakening sice the FBI is now looking at Somali people more closley esp. in areas where they are most concentrated.

every few yrs they raise the prize, it was $200 around 00, now its $600 mise $800 & it's gonna keep rising.

Thats crazy..and it takes like what 2 months to get it?

I think I paid like 70 bucks for mine and I got it in 2 weeks
Mind you I had a trip booked three weeks to application...but I got on time still..no hassle.

But that doesn't mean you can hold a canadian passport while at the same time US passport.You are only allowed to keep your original citizenship(Somalia).

If you claim to have US, canadian and somali passport then thats automatically illegal.
You can hold a Canadian as well as US citizenship..however you cant be a resident in both. Ill have to do a little research, but Im very certain that you can hold both Canadian and US passport. It is simply the case that when you are entering the US, you are required to show your US passport and when you are leaving; the Canadian (provided both are valid and not expired)

I have heard that the cost of becoming a citizen has gone up, but I applied for a passport yesterday, and it wasnt't that bad. Dangirl is correct. The cost is a hundred dollars. If you turn it in at a post office you make two checks out, one for $75 to the Department of State, and one for $25 to the US Post Master. If you have them take the photos it's an additional $15.

I was told it would take 2 to 6 weeks.

US Citizenship test is expensive though... I know a Yemeni Somali guy who came here via Visa Lottery in 2002... he got his citizenship last year and it cost $600 bucks atleast...
