To me a Ron Paul supporter is anyone who is a political Republican but has unfavorable opinion of the marriage between business and the Republican Party.Padishah wrote:A Centrist. Case in point Grant. I just find it odd a former hippy and liberal peace corp volunteer most likely voted for the Republican in the last election.

I wholeheartedly withdraw my earler political miscalculation, After much deliberation I came to the staunch conclusion that I am a black white nationalist, I believe with the exception of grant and james, we are all guilty of breathing the white man's air at this vary moment!! Breaking laws with each breath!!

That is a fair estimation of his stance. Well put.Voltage wrote:To me a Ron Paul supporter is anyone who is a political Republican but has unfavorable opinion of the marriage between business and the Republican Party.

FYI:
I have a favorable opinion of Ron Paul, but it was clear from even before the get-go that he didn't have a chance. Check the archives; I was one of Obama's earliest supporters on this board and voted for him because he reminded me so strongly of John Kennedy. I have had reason to be disgusted with all American governments for the last twenty years as they have consciously worked to lower working class wages and the ability of the middle class to maintain their financial position through education. The income disparity in this country is despicable, and growing. Selective enforcement and non-enforcement of many laws, especially the labor laws, became the norm.
While certainly not yet ready to give up on Obama, it does appear he has moved toward the middle and the pace of change has been slowed by persistant hiccups.
I believe strongly in a level playing field, so I certainly can't be pro-Republican.

Padisha...hi there do u remember this quote of yours/? I save it somewhere in my harddrive long time ago.
"By Padisha--Mon-july 16In this coffee obsessed day and age, there rarely is any connoisuer of tea around anymore. Real tea that has as much effort put in as coffee in a cafe. Have you noticed how, when you ask for tea at a coffee shop, you get hot water with some assorted tea leaf thrown in, and some sugar? That INFURIATES me.
I love my tea especially when I'm chomping down on various Arab and Turkish sweets here in Melbourne; but they're such shitty tea makers that I brew some tea at home and bring it with me!
I love Indian Chai, in all its different forms. I'm learning a different recipe every now and then, from the different regions of India, Pakistan, Kashmir and Bangladesh. All those rich spices and high quality single origin tea brewed to perfection; just the right amount of organic milk and brown sugar, and you're transported to heaven.
Another favourite of mine is the Somali tea, with the Cardamom, Cinnamon and Cloves. I don't put as much sugar as other crazy Somali's are won't to do (hint: don't brew the tea so strongly, and you wont need that much!), and its quite a hit at home and with my Indian friend.
For the cup of normal tea, I have a selection between Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Russian Caravan and Darjeeling tea's that usually drink.

Gurey, how do you reconcile your state aversion with the Khilafah?Padishah wrote:I would lean to anarchist side of the Libertarian spectrum.
gurey25 wrote:what am i? basically and anarchist leaning , Mutualist/Distributist.. and a Muslim at the same time..
Padishah there is nothing to reconcile with, becuase there never was or is such a thing as an Islamic state.
Its an Oxymoron..
The Ummah during the time of the Khulfa al rashidun and of the Bani ummaya and even the more centralized Cabbasids
do not conform to the western/modern concept of a state.
and those today who envison an Islamic state today falsely believe its a dictatorship of the khalifate, a centralized state
becuase they have been corrupted by western thought, which they believe is islamic.
Re: I am a Somali Liberal, what are you?
We're on the same page so far. Two queries:
1. How would you answer those who insist that we should return to the Ummah as it was under the Ummayads and Abbasids.
2. How would you answer those who insist that its a duty of every Muslim to implement the Shariah (and the Hudood), a state being a requisite of any law enforcement?

First question, I would answer, Screw YouPadishah wrote:We're on the same page so far. Two queries:

Second question, I would say, "hmmm."
Re: I am a Somali Liberal, what are you?
Not sure how effective 'screw you' would be in a discussion. Maybe at the end of a fruitless discussion.

Exactly. Because such question are quite futile. I don't subscribe to any ideology that requires the sleep of reason.Padishah wrote:Not sure how effective 'screw you' would be in a discussion. Maybe at the end of a fruitless discussion.

Re: I am a Somali Liberal, what are you?
1. They should first look back at how the state of the ummah at that time,it consisted of independent self sufficient communities that willingly pledged their allegience to the khalifa. The khalifas did not micro manage, actually they were not even able to legislate and rule.Padishah wrote:We're on the same page so far. Two queries:

Their main tasks were to uphold the shariica, appoint qadis and distribute zakat..
Even upto the 20th century in the Osmanli khalifate, the Sultan had little to do with administration, and upto 70-80% of lands were owned by awqaf that took responsibilty of hospitals, and education , soacial security and even infrastructure like maintanance of bridges and roads.
2. Shariica is all encompasing and is more than simply the huddud, and somalis along with the vast majority of muslims throughout history
lived as muslims with the shariica without a state, without a penal code or policing.

I believe in Autocracy (Despotic) and Imperialism. On political issues I am conservative and on social and moral issues I am conservative. As you can guess there has been no-one that has appealed to me since Suleiman the magnificent.
