He is the man who founded Pakistan without firing a single bullet. Mohamed Ali Jinnah, otherwise known as Quaid-e-Azam (The Great Leader). He outmaneuvered Gandhi and Nehru and other Indian Congress leaders and won Pakistan through sheer diplomacy when the very idea of Pakistan was something to be laughed atAdvo wrote:It just sounded funny, but who is he?

we need someone like that.

Yea. The philosopher Allama Iqbal was the first one to write about the importance of a Muslim Homeland in South Asia. Ch Rahmat Ali gave a name to this dream while studying at Cambridge and it was the secularist Jinnah who made it a reality. Today Jinnah is celebrated as the founder of Pakistan and Allama Iqbal as the idea behind its creation. Recently the former Indian Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh was kicked out of the VJP for writing a book that showed Jinnah in a very favorable light. Indian history books are noteworthy in their negative view of Jinnah (understandably)IRONm@N wrote:I heard the name PAKISTAN is just an Acronym that stands for:
Punjab
Afghani
Kashmir
Indu

Coined by Choudhary Rahmat Ali, as you know.

Punjab, Afghan, Kashmir, Sindh, Balochistan.
Those were the 5 Muslim northern provinces of former India. Later the acronym became Pakistan as a formal name.
