Re: "Africanization" of Somalia
If arabs cared about us or recognized some of the selfhating clans to be arabs they would have sent troops to somalia.
Africans(no matter their religion), iranian and turkish nations are our true brothers and sisters.
what arabs gave us is a backward culture and religiouse practice called wahabism.

Re: "Africanization" of Somalia
What the hell is "Africanization" of Somalia? There are more Arabs in North Africa than in the middle East. How can you Africanize a country in Africa?
As for HutuKing01
Africans(no matter their religion)
That just plain absurd; those non Muslim Africans have nothing in common with us except the colour of your skin. If anything, we should distinct ourselves from them.

Re: "Africanization" of Somalia
Somalia was a country revered and looked upto by many countries in sub-saharan Africa. It was a image of what many liberation movements aspired there states to one-day become, Somalia as pointed out earlier in the topic aided the ANC,FRELIMO of mozambique and various other movements in sub-saharan Africa. In Lusaka Zambia, the goverment there named a Major road after Mogadishu which is a measure of the level of respect Somalia and Somalis comanded across the region. In respect to the AMISOM mission, I dont see them as exerting any influence into the workings of Somali religion and Society in any form.Infact perhaps the only reason for there presence is the fact that there goverments are willing to send there troops whether there are financial incentives or other motivations shouldnt matter at this critical time where Somalia is at cross-roads.AMISOM is the only obstacle standing between Somalia becoming a "Taliban-like" state? the negative result for the Somali people is there is no trade-off.They are giving up there livelihoods squatted in refugee camps and miserable living conditions in return for either an extremist state or a weak fragile ineffective goverment, the future is indeed very bleak.Nevertheless the fact that African countries are sending troops to Somalia and where muslim/Arab states havn't taken interest clearly shows where our geo-political interests should lie for the time being.I guess there is no other choice.
Really but it would be naive to think Museveni and Burundi are sending troops without the financial factor been considered. Its an opportunity for them to improve there international standing and create a stronger bond with the U.S goverment and other parties to the Somali conflict like the E.U, under the guise of training Somali troops and preparing for the Somali mission.Uganda and Burundi has in there respect benefitted military and politcally, with increased investment in these areas by those powers taking interest in Somalia.taking on the Somali mission has probably earned them many points now and in the future.Museveni can now cruise to a landslide in the elections without batting an eye
.
In the end the only victims are the Somali people themselves and if the international community continues to impose upon the people there desire rulers then it will never settle. The only people who can solve the problem is Somalis themselves.
What the International Community needs to do is support local initiatives and block interest groups from exerting there own desires into the process, the main culprits been the USA and its puppet ally Ethiopia.
The AU itself is a flawed and rather corrupt institution, it cannot be trusted. The fact that they praised Ethiopia's elections should be enough to kill there credibility. Its an organisation run by dictators and rights violators.
I feel sorry for the Somali people because another regional conflict looms, that of the Nile. With Egypt,Sudan and Eritrea as one bloc and the IGAD/African states another, Somalia in the middle.

Re: "Africanization" of Somalia
The invasion of Ethiopia, Uganda, Burundi, and now others who are coming are part of the new colonialization and the christianization of Somalia. These African mercenaries are serving bigger powers that want to loot the natural resources of Somalia, christianize its people, and make sure the rest of the people of Somalia become destitute if they don't follow that line.

Udun inaabti with all due respect to you, I think you're having imaginary fears. If the English, the Italians and the French with all their might and power couldn't achieve this during the days of colonisation what makes you think a couple of thousand of AU troops will?

Of course, AU has an agenda and the Ugandans in Somalia have their own reasons of defending Somalia from the religious thugs that threaten to eradicate our culture and way of life. This is a stupid question to ask. It is in the interest of these countries to ensure Somalia doesn't fall into the hands of the religious radicals. Terrorism is not a local issue and it is in the best interest of everyone to contain and eradicate it. Al Qaida is not a local or regional organization, this is a mafia band that has visions of ruling the entire world. AU and AMISOM are not just doing the Somali people a favor by defending our land from the terrorists, they are also directly keeping their countries safe by defeating this nihilistic thugs before they have any chance to threaten and project their powers beyond Somali border. If you listen to Al Shabab, the first thing you should know is that their wars are not limited to Somalia.
And then this sadistic FAH1223 has the decency to follow Murux's weak and biased reasoning to ask a naive question.
What a simpleton You are. Your whole peanut sized brain orbits upon who You should support that is in line with Your clansman paper President out of clannism. You will support any and everything that falls within that warped criteria. I will await for responses with the more reasonable, emotionaly stable members.
Ps Simpleton; If that Arab dude did say Shareef should negotiate with Shabab then He is right on the money. When You are in a position of weakness You are in no place to pick and choose who You will or will not negotiate with. Conflict Resolution 101.
I am not a simpleton, I state the reality and you can’t handle it.
Despite all the fake pretences of nationalism and claiming to care about the plight of the Somali people, the fact remains that you are the same boring and gullible weakling that was yesterday presenting religious verses to justify and legitimize the Ethiopian occupation of Somalia and the suffering of the people of Mogadishu. Your hypocrisy is so blatant and obvious that you don’t even hide it. While you criticize and make all sorts of unfounded allegations to attack this TFG, the fact remains that you continue to support individuals within the TFG that share a clan name with you. You continue to support the Dollow group in Gedo. How miraculously predictable of you is it then, for you to characterize me and my views through my clan.
With all the suffering and agony that is crippling Somalia, not ONCE have you ever criticized Al Shabab or expressed your solidarity with our people. Your shameful presentation of images of the suffering women and children in Mogadishu as some sort of war-trophy is well known .No-one is interested in your crocodile tears and deluded concerns about the situation of our people.
The AU presence in Somalia is obviously a symptom of the Somali problem. Long after these troops are gone, the problems that torment our country will remain. Instead of shedding crocodile tears and diverting the core issues of Somalia by scapegoating on AMISOM, you should be liberating yourself from the chronic disease of inferiority complex and hatred that dictates your world-view.

Well said, bro.nomadicwarlord wrote:Twisted_Logic wrote:nomadicwarlord wrote:Somalia is an African State that is also part of the African Union. It is necessary for AU to lead the mediation process wherever there is a conflict in the continent. AU is the only body that answered the call. The international community preferred peacekeepers in Somalia to come from predominantly Muslim countries and guess what, No Arab country stepped up to help their so called brother in need. Arab League is a defunct organization. At least Al-Qaeda answered the call and regards Somalia a "High Priority"![]()
for all the wrong reasons though.
The suggestion of the Qatari King when asked to help end the Somali conflict was, " let the government enter peace talks with Al Shabab." Somalia can do away with these disingenuous and back-stabbing "friends and brothers."![]()
Even a Middle School student has the capacity to advise the TFG about peace talks, let alone a Qatari King. The Member States of the Arab League have the ability to push for real peace talks and implement measures that can strengthen the weak institutions that have been plagued by incompetency and corruption. They don't have to send a peacekeeper in MOG. Al-Shabaab is not fighting for a Somali cause but a foreign one. If it wasn't for groups on a war path, AMISOM would have never fired a single shot in the capital. Failed principles from Tora Bora caves have no place in Somalia. Peace, Security, Stability and Al-Shabaab should never be mentioned in the same sentence after this one
The fact is if Al Shabab was at the core a Somali organization and its ideology was limited to Somalia, no-one would have seen it as a threat. Instead, it is criminal gang that is operated out of the hills of Afghanistan and are driven by hallucinative visions of conquering Alaska, Japan and the Solomon Islands. The people that are miserably looking for some sort of a moral equivalence between Al Shabab and its opponents in Somalia either have their heads deep in the sand or are motivated by ulterior motives. Those of us that support the TFG in principle, do so with all the corruption, weakness, incompetence that dominates it. We do so because we understand what is at stake here is not simply between Guy X from Clan X and Al Shabab. The very existence of our country and way of life are in jeopardy.

Re: "Africanization" of Somalia
Whats happening in Somalia today is not something thats simple and can be solved by anyone let alone the arabs. You have a couple of different idealogical wars and Somali is the theatre and the Somalis bit part actors. On one side you have the deranged Wahabis who are a threat to every muslim country they are shaking them all some more then others. On the other hand you have Uncle Sam and the western nation. Who are chasing this phantom that moves from place to place. They are trying to kill something that cant be killed and the harder they try the stronger they make it. The arabs or rulers are scared of this force and for them to even admit it exists is to hasten their eventual downfall. For them to enter Somali is a no win situation and carries more risks then gains. Why help Uncle sam who is a threat to them and bullies them and also why help the Islamist who will kill them. So they choose to sit it out just like Palestine/Chechnya/Afganistan/Kashmir and all the other places muslims are being killed. If Somebody needed help more then the Somalis is the Palestinians and if Somebody was more arab then the Somalis is the Palestinians and they get sweet FA. So why are black monkey somalis who are killing themselves deserving of any help.
As for the Africans who have been franchised to fight this war in Somalia, they in my view will help unite Somalis. Because I think the Somalis will not heel and they dont care for human rights, so they will get more brutal to achieve their goals and the Somalis more stubborn. Till every Somali has a common enemy. The african occupiers.

Re: "Africanization" of Somalia
Somalia is located in the African continent but Somalia does not have an African problem Somalia has an Alqeada problem this is what you guys don’t see If you are located in Africa it doesn’t mean its an obstacle or something, even though I don’t think more African troops will solve any thing
