The national army attacked the people it suppose to protect.

Gardhere used his excellent talents in the 77 war and then when his people got attacked by their own government he stood up for the right cause. During civil war he showed his abilities and his courage when he was the only commander in Afgoye that fought against the mooryaan until he died while others either withdrew or even worse were snitching.
