Post by Coeus »

The administration of Al-Shabab at El-Buur distruict in Galgaduud region in central Somalia has overnight imposed curfew in El-Buur town, and has as well arrested several people in the district. Somaliweyn website has made contacts with some of the local residents in the district to know more about the curfew and one of these residents is Ali Farah.

“Without prior notice we have been told that as from 7:00pm to 5:00am in the morning there should be no movement of people of which none of the local residents know why this so called administration has imposed a curfew during the night, there are some people who do buying and selling during night specially from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, but unfortunately those activities were not practised overnight” said Ali Farah.

Mr. Farah has added that if this curfew goes on for the next three nights the local residents will stage protest just similar to those in Tunis and Egypt.

“We cannot persist long in this merciless curfew, and if it goes on for the next three days we shall stage unprecedented protest just like those in Tunisia and parts of Egypt” added Farah.

Almost 10 local residents were arrested by the fighters of Al-Shabab after having spotted loitering in the town after 7:00pm, and yet the fate of this arrested people is not known, although the local elders have on Sunday morning turned up at the detention centre where these people are arrested.
