The problems are gigantic. You can't build a nation on tribalism and wahabism nonsenses. You need a secular state that is based on participation, good goveranance, rationality and the power of reasoning.
Get rid of the illitrate quran school teacher who flies the globe while his people are dying of hunger
Get rid of the so called parliament that consists of wahabi preachers, qaad chewers, warlords and illitrates
Get rid of the diaspora based governments (welfare earners)
And create secular institutions because in almost all cases such institutions are democratic
Secularism is the key to solving Somalia's problems

Correct me if Im wrong but, this war has been going on for 20 years. Of those 20 years, 16 was secular, and only 5 have been non secular. So how is secularism the key

Correction; somalia was a secular state albeit scientific socialism turned secular tribal state (after 1977) until 1991. Since then, it was
an anarchist state (1991-2000)
tribal fiefdoms 2000-2005
Religious state 2005-2006
Failed state with TFGs (read warlords, tribalists, islamists) 2006- todate.
What we need is a secular state with strong institutions; out with the 4,5 thing, out with wahabi constitution and out with the corrupted TFG and in with democracies at the grassroots; let there be local governance, rebuild trust and get a model that is based on justice.

Secularism and all those other things that u mentioned except religion are not exclusive.globetrotter2 wrote:Shirib wrote:Correct me if Im wrong but, this war has been going on for 20 years. Of those 20 years, 16 was secular, and only 5 have been non secular. So how is secularism the key

So everything before 2006, Somalia was secular. The warlords, politicians, gangs and all those other groups before the ICU in 2006 were secular. Secularism, isn't the solution to Somalia's problems, cause Somalia's problem is a secular problem, named qabyaalad

Shrib, you are making a good point! However, I am talking about a secular state built on the principles of democracy.
Warlordism, islamism and TFG gwent hand in hand since 1991 and that is not secularism
