How is taraweeh at your local masjid?

Post by Narcissistic »

We usually pray at this masjid close to home with a Arab imaam. I like it there not too long and not too short.

Lately, I've been praying with a Somali imaam. The last time I prayed taraweeh at a Somali masjid regularly was like.....errm never :|

Day 1: duration 1 hr and half. My feet extremely sore. My legs felt like jelly by the end of the 4th rakah,I could barely keep my arms in the correct position during qiyaam.

I heard they pray 3 juz during tahajjud, I don't know if I can do it. :| :|

^Think that should finally silence any and all accusations, no?

3 juz is the norm for tahajjud. So is an hour and a half for taraweeh.

Narci? From the chat?

Oh, and it's a mix where I am. 3 different imaams.

Samtar, Night 17= my first time praying at this new masjid. Looks like its a permanent change so guess I have to toughen up....

Alphanumeric, 1hr taraweeh is all i'm use to. I've seen places less than 1hr aswell. It seems like express taraweeh, you literally start panting after every rakah :|

I understand how praying night prayers in Rajab would be a good preparation. I feel like I'm running a sprint without having done the necessary warm up. :| :!: :x

I pray at a Somali mosque and its usually a Somali kid leading the prayers - kid got a beautiful voice.

We have a lot of non-Somalis who pray with us, mainly Arabs and other Africans.

This Yemeni oday told me there are 3 Pakistani masjids where he lives but he drives all the way here to pray at this one. :?

First night gets u sore for sure.Hang in there and it becomes easy and very awesome.

Our masjid has a mixture of all colors and creed. I think one of the 3 Imams is a Somali, possibly.I usually leave before the witr prayer part.
