Faisal Aden’s college career is over

Post by DR-YALAXOOW »

— The news on Faisal Aden's knee is the worst possible. He's torn the ACL in his left knee, and will miss the rest of his senior season. Tough break for the Cougars, and even tougher for Aden, who was playing the best basketball of his career just before the injury. We have some more details after the jump, so read on

he'll probably play overseas... if he improves, he may get a shot in the NBA D-League if he plays well overseas

Had a great college career  Guy moved up from community college ball to killing it on a bonafide div 1 team next to NBA talent. There's tons of Somali basketball players all over North America but guys usually do not how to train hard and keep themselves in shape. Looks like this guy worked his butt off, major credit for that.

He'll make a good living playing pro ball. I can see him going to the Gulf. I know a guy from my city who did that and is on the Qatari national team. They like Somalis because its easier to pass them off as Gulf citizens no conversion or name change necessary

Is a torn ACL common among Somalis? I knew several guys who've had problems with this and a few who've had operations. Strange.

its a torn ACL... he probably already had surgery and rehab is 6-8 months. He'll be himself again after 18 months should he stay in shape and healthy. Those guys you mentioned had immense freak injuries.

Alpha, I've seen a lot of Somalis get torn ACLs myself. Don't know why that is.
