Islam and evolution
This link and this picture is quite interesting.
Anyone can check the website and picture for validity?
The first link has a lot of interesting claims that goes against what I have learned in Quranic schools back then.

Re: Islam and evolution
It's a really broad and interesting topic to discuss, and as has been proven the previous 1300 times on this site, Somalis aren't the ones to discuss it with.
This quote from the first link was particularly intriguing.

Every Muslim school and mosque used to teach evolution up until a few hundred years ago. Some westerners, including Darwin's contemporary, Sir William Draper, called it the Mohammedan Theory of Evolution. Draper admitted that the Muslim version was more advanced than Darwin's, because in the Muslim version, the evolution starts out with minerals.

Re: Islam and evolution
We believe in micro evolution whereby species adapt to their environment as in the different shape beaks of this one species of bird

As for macro evolution where one species turns into a complete different species is just a fairy tale

All things evolve through out time, there i natural selection and survival of the fittest. Adam was made of clay. Allahu Akbar.

This quote I also find interesting as I was also taught that Hawa came from Adam (Pbuh)'s ribs.Keyblade wrote:It's a really broad and interesting topic to discuss, and as has been proven the previous 1300 times on this site, Somalis aren't the ones to discuss it with.

I was unable to find any more threads than single hand can count. I've read some of threads and most of them was just linking to atheist websites/videos and stating it is correct and is compatible with Islam (or even supersedes the Islam) thus justifying the reason for fight whereas I have linked to Islamic website but I am not still sure of its validity despite to it making extraordinary claims with little-no sources.Another example of how Judeo-Christian beliefs were mixed into Islamic ones, is that many Muslim children are taught that Eve was made from Adam's rib. This, though stated in the Bible, is never in the Qur'an. Firstly, the Qur'an never even states whether Adam or Eve was created first.
The reason why I'm posting here rather than other forums is that I'm Somali so our belief are most likely to be the same.
