@Shirib.....and Abuukar apparently, regardless of the reasons for adopting foreign names, the fact of the matter is that they're still foreign. Islam allowed Arab culture to flourish far beyond the borders of Arabia, as you said, influencing regions as far flung as Bosnia and Indonesia. Imperialism allowed European culture to flourish far beyond the borders of Europe, influencing much of the world today. In either case, foreign cultures heavily influenced and in some cases replaced indigenous African cultures. Africans seem to be unable to ever influence the world or export their own cultures, but tend to adopt foreign cultures and beliefs readily.

We might not have been as influenced by European colonialism as other Africans, but I don't think we can say we've retained our original beliefs and customs. I've noticed that many seem to be uncomfortable with the notion that we weren't always Muslims or that our history predates our conversion to Islam.

Except African living conditions aren't bad at all. Indeed, Africa is probably the richest continent on Earth in terms of natural resources, which clearly contributed to the evolutionary stagnation of the nigger. Sure it was developed in Europe Christianity with their own culture but it had its origins in the middle east now compare it to islam , Prophet Muhammad was born 570 the year of the Elephant when the Abyssinian Emperor Abraha ibn al Ashram attacked Arabia. Arabs before Islam didn't name them selves after prophets Islam introduced naming ur children after prophets so its not Arab culture that developed Arab civilization its the Islamic culture and faith that influenced Arab and the culture of the horners not the other way around.

The entire crux of my argument is that Africans have rarely exported their own beliefs and cultures, but readily succumb to cultural imperialism and drop their indigenous belief systems and cultures at the drop of a dime. As I've reiterated a number of times, you'll find black Africans who speak English, French and Arabic, follow Catholicism, Protestantism, or Islam and named William, Francois, or Abdullah, yet you'll never see an Englishman, Frenchman, or Arab named Obongo following Waaq whilst speaking Wolof. Why?
