While the previously poor countries in Asia - in part through foreign aid from Denmark - is moving forward, the countries in Africa barely moved since independence in 1960, despite billions in Danish and international assistance.

The Danish foreign aid to countries in Asia looks like a clear success. On the other hand decades of billion assistance to countries in Africa is a failure, because the development has largely stalled throughout the vast continent.

Vietnam is the latest example of an Asian success story:

After 15 years of Danish development aid totaling 4.4 billion. kr, Vietnam has become so wealthy that the Danish assistance is being stopped, said the Danish Development Cooperation, Ulla Tørnæs (V), which has just been visited by the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister.

The proportion of people living below the poverty line has fallen from 58 per cent. in 1993 to 16 percent. Today.

In Tanzania, with approx. half a billion. per year is the largest recipient of Danish development assistance, Denmark has the same period spent some 7.3 billion. kr for help. Here are the percentage of poor fell from 38 per cent. in 1992 to 35 percent. in 2001, when the latest figures are from.

this danish pigs why could they not ttake for example Ghana or ZAMBIA compare vietnam. actually BOTH ZAMBIA AND Ghana have more GDP per capita than Vietnam which means they are richer than vietnam.. and they are not telling the trues about the aid they give Tanzania every year.. actually 90% of so called Aid they pay western countries do not reach the country the are sending that aid.... salaries and their staff expencies acounted as aid to the alleged country they are giving the aid..
