Silanyo’s Chief Foreign Policymaker; Backwards and Backwards

President Silanyo took office, bearing in mind the international isolation the country was suffering, and his priority was to break the wall from the society under siege. But his nomination of Dr? Omar Abdilahi, a green whose background is mired in mystery and who never involved in international affairs industry including investigating or writing academic researches of such matters followed roughshod, not the standard practice of hiring public servants. Are you zero experienced with sheepish obedience? You have little sympathy to Somaliland cause? Are you must be less clannish when we are practicing our nepotism openly? You’ll be furtive, not like your credible uncle, Mr Yusuf Boobe, won’t you? Are you non Q(K)ulmiye and non-SNM background though you old enough to participate? And etc. after closer examination at the issue, I found these to be the president’s criteria of nominations. Can we trust our fate with such senseless man.

Consequently; the guy enriches his pockets greedily to transfer his family from ghetto in England to bosh area until he loses the blessing of Amina Waris, the First Lady, and as he has neither credentials nor experience to market his skills, he feels the president and his inner circle as if his second family. Somalia’s foreign ministry collapsed before other sectors when ambassadors turned to sheepish stooges for the first family of Somalia shopping underwear, socks, and French Bras for the president’s little daughters; but Somaliland’s foreign diplomacy is already weak and uncoordinated at the very best. Foreign policy is more important than any other department including defense ministry which struggling to bring Buhodle, a tiny village invisible in any international map back to Hargiesa camp through carrot and stick approach, however; the foreign ministry is slowly dying now in the hands of immature, amateur, incompetent person. When will the president wake up to Adna Adan’s voluntary role of Somaliland goodwill ambassador to the global stage? Perhaps the end of his term..

No matter what grave mistakes he commits, he’ll hang on his post as long as he is money-wise, but he must be told to resign. Does he have a passion to contribute to his nation-building? What brought him here in Somaliland is clear.

Is our nation short of professional diplomats and diplomatic cadets to take the lead? No, never, but the president falls in love with amateurs for reasons only he knows, imagine Jamal Hussien, Harvard-trained graduate, heading our banking system instead of Sheikh Samale whose economic concept is to accumulate taxes from poor masses and give corrupted colleagues to devour. Think of the current Central Bank Governor, a holder of MBA from California, taking instructions from Mr. Sheikh Samale! Totally unprofessional worse than Hirsi Gab and Yalahaw of Somalia! It is upside down!

Back to the point, Dr? Omar Abdilahi has to be scrapped immediately if we are serious about de-escalating his diplomatic losses. His counterpart of Somalia is highly educated and better experienced; the days when Somalilanders claimed to be better learned have gone, it just a thing of the past.

Despite his health, overage and his inability to perform his constitutional tasks properly, the president’s fault is that he put wrong people in the steering. To be honest ,Dr? Omar Abdilahi cannot take the shoes of his predecessor and navigate in brutal global diplomacy safely, since his nomination, his performance is utter disaster! He showed only cheap deception of reer xamarayn to us and more or less remains the same with little improvement. His unrelenting focus is on safeguarding his seat till the death of his boss or even after him by flattery “it is first time to attend in x conference and I said so and so”. His experience is below the required by Somaliland, a nation that wants to be independent and uplifted from its walled blockade. When this man of low caliber is chosen to lead the besieged nation out! We ought to forget about Somaliland and not bother ourselves. We need women and men such Adna Adan, the “Mother Teresa of Muslims” truly deserving, and Adan Qaybe, Somalia’s last foreign minister and ambassador at the NY City. These have proven record in international diplomacy and capable to talk to global audience via satellite link. But Dr “ Benaale” cannot or the liar as many call him. He lacks basic communication skills, very essential to get one’s message across to listeners.

In nutshell, based on his performance indexes on two and half years, he is utter failure. He should be trashed before he sinks Somaliland with his heaps of lies, deception, miscalculations, and flip flopping
