This dan iyo duco is just a tribal entity in disguise. Them building a little school or two isn't going compensate for the dangers they pose. They should ban them altogether.

We need to open organisation with cross clan appeal. Like trade unions and lobby groups for particular sections of society. Student unions, union for workers like the often exploited domestic workers, union of farmers, union of fishers, livestock traders and even a union for the unemployed seeking work. Parties could than compete for the support of those union members with promise of whatever incentives. Things like minimum wages, tax breaks, reduced tuition fees in the case of the students and so on..... This sort of thing will, in the long run, eliminate the problem of people only voting along tribal lines and ultimately ensure that we make the right kind of progress. This dan iyo duco and others like it only dig a deeper hole
Dan iyo duco
Talo Iyo Tawfiiq
Gar-adag etc will result more negative affect in long term!

Le justicier

That is a very enlightened notion. Insha'Allah it will help progress somalinimo.
Collective benefits and security always beats 'clan' loyalty when we're talking about unintelligent people.

Awoowe it's easy looking at this dd and tt from your MK snow cover garden! That post with its socialist ideals won't work when the majority are in desperate condition, 'if you can feed you can lead them' thats what is happening at those meeting, these people are conditioned believe the only to get something or reach somewhere in life is through your clan!
When there are jobs and source of income every man would think twice before they do anything that would threaten or Jeapordise their welfare!

The 'African' mentality needs to be eradicated.
Individualism to an extent gets you progress.
However i do agree Clan loyalty is too ingrained into the fabric of Somali Identity for any easy solution to be borne.
This heritage think tank should address is it as paramount  .
But i suspect it will be a yuppy gravy train in no time.

Not legitimising it but understanding it! Everything happens for a reason! Give the average man something to loose and he will be preoccupied to take part these gatherings!

Awoowe have ever heard
Heedhee hiboy Ratigeenu markuu hingan waayo
Ayaan huri waaga haleel cuskadaaye
Habeen ma wadaagno
Hadaan magaciisa dantaydu higaadin
Masoo hadal qaado.
The background of the poem is short-term gain scheme......another definition of what you are trying to explain me!.

I need to visit the town man waa runta, this relative of mine through my grandmother visited the city recently he told me the "road" which connects Oog with Ceerigaabo through Ceelafweyn and Yufle was afwul though maxaa ka jira? last experience I had with a crappy road was the one which connects Wadaamago with Qorilugud and I arrived kinda sick and the crappy water didn't help either.
