Matter of fact, all foreign journalists would need to be registered, only get their visas approved after the MOI reviews their credentials and what they want to report on. In addition, a MOI minder would be assigned to them to monitor them.

I agree, all domestic and foreign journalist should register and their credentials should be verified. But every journalist stretches the truth a little bit, and we should grow a thicker skin or start investing in Somali journalists that could verify and challenge any misinformation that could negatively portray the nation. Having monopoly over the information coming out of Somalia is something a dictator would prefer. In due time, we will have educated Somalis who are more than capable of intellectually refuting fallacious claims and reports.

Besides, I won't be surprised if the MOI's silence and cooperation could be bought.
