I've been meaning to buy a trimmer/clipper to do diy hair-cutting. I'm sick of barbers cutting my hair unevenly.

I hate these obnoxious, airhead farangi barbers in the west. Do what I do - DON'T cut your hair. :myman:

I thought we are supposed to cut our hair every 40 days or is that just sunnah?

^That's isn't your head.

I'm confused, what exactly is the product? A couple mirrors and a set of clippers? All you need is a dollar store mirror and any decent clippers.

I use to cut my own hair and beard until one time I lost grip of my clippers and got the side of my beard gone with it :snoop:
I might try this three way mirror. :ehh:

Andis T-Outliner I or II for shape ups and shaving, a perfect line :whew:

Assalamu alaikum! This does not apply to the hair on our head. According to Rasulullah (SAW) in our authentic ahadith, this applies specifically to underarm hair and pubic hair but also to finger/toenails. As men, we are permitted to shape and trim our facial hair but should also keep a beard that extends one fist length below our chin. However we may trim the hair of the neck and the cheeks (note: there is difference of opinion regarding what constitutes "cheeks" and "neck" but majority ijma or consensus agrees that this is defined as any hair not immediately around the general jaw line area).

Also regarding head hair for men, in short we are commanded to not resemble women or imitate them. The Prophet (SAW) was reported as having hair all one uniform length that hung just below the ear at times, while at other times, extending all the way to near the chin area, presumably approaching the shoulders.

Also, I have a small book from the ulema e Deoband entitled, "Masail of the Hair", I can send anyone interested a free copy.
