hopefully this will put it to rest. there is nothing that says you cannot smoke weed. but its says intoxicants and wine. intoxicants are what takes you out of you mind and weed takes you out of your mind.

Thank you very much for pointing this out.
I was lazy and assumed that it was from bukhari or muslim, because these hadiths about your prayers not being accepted for 40 days if you are intoxicated are commonly quoted by people.

but thanks to you i searched my saxix bukhari app and also went online to search from sahihmuslim.com and found nothing.
after more searches i discovered that these hadiths are in Sunan ibn majah considered by sunni as the 6th book of hadiths in order of importance.
It is the 6th because of the amount of weak hadiths in it.
The hadiths regarding this subject were deemded saxiix by shiekh albani.

but there is controversy.
