Which Puntland town has the best soccer teams?

During my visit in Puntland earlier this year, I have attended a lot of soccer games through various towns and villages. Here is my personal take on what I have observed there and as to which town I think has the best teams in the regions I have visited.

To be honest, this can hardly be called a contest for one town is so dominant over all the rest that is not even close.
In my judgement, Garowe has by far the best teams in the entire region. The teams there are so good that they can easily not only compete with the best of any other Somali regional teams but is even in a great position to take on the Somali's national team. Yes, they are that good. In fact, from what I have heard, they have already once or twice played the national team and have given them all they could handle. I am not quite sure what the final outcome of those games were, it was either a tie or the national team won by a single goal or so. Anyways, Garowe teams are so good that event the national team coaches took notice the pool of talents there and have scouted there and added couple of guys on their roster. The skills and discipline of this team is just phenomenal. I never imagined Garowe being able to assemble so many young soccer talents. Machallah.

As I have hinted above, the rest of the teams in the region are generally mediocre at best with some evidently more so than others. I was greatly disappointed with Bosaaso and Gaalkacyo, two towns which convention wisdom would assume to have better soccer teams, if for no other reason, simply because they are both major towns with significant population concentration. I have watched multiple games in these towns. Teams there played so poorly that to watch those games was unbearably dull, so much so that one would be hard pressed not to fall asleep. They are indeed big time bore and have long way to go before anyone takes them seriously in a soccer field and even longer before they are ready for prime-time.

Bacaadwey and Bursalah, both two small degmos in Mudug surprisingly play relatively better than Boosaaso and Gaalkacyo. I have watched a game played by Bacaadweyn and Gaalkacyo teams , in which the latter was no match for the former, and was so out played, and embarrassed like there is no tomorrow. And to make matters worse, Gaalkacyo team was soundly beaten in its own tariff.

Another game I have watched was between Busaalax and Gaalkacyo. This was played in Bursaalax and though the game ended tied, I thought Bursaalax deserved to win that game for it was much more aggressive and certainly better skilled than reer Gaalkacyood.

I was in Bosaso back in 2011 and watched some local games and it was alright. Their was a tournament held there and one of the clubs bought a kid from Garowe, were from the same block. He was one of Nugaals top players and made a good inpact in the 18 region games that was held in Garowe and was later called up by the national team. The local teams in Bosaso some where really good others weren't. While watching the games I started to like a club named Horseed, this team played good football and the fans loved it. They whooped the other clubs and won the finals since no one could get in there way. But when it comes to regions I think at the moment Bari is hands down the best. They have won alot of trophies and are well respected even tho not so much in Garowe. But since Bari was split and now Karkaar is in the picture the mighty Bari has gotten weaker. In my opinion at the moment the ari boowes are ahead in soccer. Nugaal, Mudug, Haylaan etc will some day take the torch but until they do ari boowes shall
