Re: Married folks who take separate vacations
I am pro personal space, for the most part. Lakinse what is "separate vacations"? Going to Malaysia for a week on your own? That's pushing it a bit too far. A weekend spa break alone/friends, a weekend out with his friends, a week away with your family...certain things make sense. Lakin I want to go on holiday (a proper one with hotels and flights) alone sounds dodgy as hell.

They do also say ''out of sight, out of mind''Nomand wrote:you need a break from the wife and kids, this will also create more love as you miss them and they miss you. i think this is very healthy.
i would take a selfie vacation.
We all are different. Some people need space to recharge. It doesnt mean they love their family any less.
Re: Married folks who take separate vacations
I think taking vacation is a foreign culture. I don't think the Sahaba took vacation.

Re: Married folks who take separate vacations
but he never got married, right? If my memory is accurate! He lived in a world of his own.Niya wrote:Khalil Gibran's quote comes to mind:
“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.”

it's ok to let him go somewhere without u once in a while. It's really not that big of a deal..it's when they make a habit of it, you'll start to wonder why his trying to get away from u..hmm. my husband went to World Cup in South Africa with his brother and friend, it didn't bother me, even though i was very hormonal at the time
likewise, I went to Hong Kong last year with my friend who was shopping for her store..it didn't bother him.

Re: Married folks who take separate vacations
These married people and their separate vacation are simply trying to recapture their bacheler/bacheloretteness. Of the married Faraxs whom I have vacationed with, most were out to have some fun and enjoy the single life for a few days. They are more aggressive, more gungho about living it up. I don't blame them: nagging wives at home & not being given space to breath.
Faraxs, just remember, don't leave any evidence of your vacation and what happens out of town should stay there.

Re: Married folks who take separate vacations
thats the stupidest thing ever.
I take my wife everywhere.
the only time we have separate vacations is when she doesnt want to go to the homeland, and i do.
then its easy she goes to her family and i go to somaliland.

Don't be quick to judge others. Wait until your 7th year of marriage.gurey25 wrote:you should get all that out of your system.AbdiWahab252 wrote:These married people and their separate vacation are simply trying to recapture their bacheler/bacheloretteness. Re: Married folks who take separate vacations
Define vacation:
A period of time where you are away from your home for non-work related reasons, like visiting family?
or
Going to say Hawaii, where you are going specifically for recreation and enjoyment
The first one, people do that all the time. The second one is an eye-raiser. Unless it is with a group of friends like your husband going to the world cup, which is more gender related, guys kind of thing, just like going shopping to another city, girl kind of thing.
But if she is going to the Bahamas, even with a group of friends, it's where we end, and she can pick up her single life with her friends.
