Mogadishu (RBC) Somalia Foreign Minister and International Cooperation Dr Abdurahman Duale Beyleh has departed from Mogadishu on Friday to New York to attend the United Nations Security Council meeting on Somalia security earlier March, RBC Radio reports.
The Ministers delegation has met a farewell bid in Mogadishi’s Aden Abdulle International Airport as their plane was taking off to New York.
“The Minister spearheaded a delegation from Somalia Federal Government will be attending a UN Security Council Briefing on Somalia between 6th and 8th March.” a statement from the office of the minister said.
According to the statement, the UN Security Council Briefing will be very vital for Somalia, as the council prepares to discuss and review the one-year-long lift of Somalia’s arms embargo which started in March last year and is due to end in this March.
According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry Public Information Unit, Minister Beyleh will stand strongly to clarify on what they termed as “weak and biased 47 pages report” by the UN Monitoring Group.

I aint saying shit.
Re: somali FM travels to new york to extend th lifting of ar
i think until
becomes recognised, the arms embargo shouldn't be lifted. the world will not allow barbarians to invade another country (albeit a de facto one) as they know the will of somaliland's people for independence cannot be ignored

It should be lifted, Iraq has better weaponry than us.
But prior to the lifting of the Arms Embargo, Somalia needs to discipline these Soldiers.

What soldiers?
all you have is competing clan militias.
People seem to think the SNA will build itself.
You need visionary able generals, a disciplined and experienced NCO cadre etc.

Do you really think we care about that place? If wasn't our turkish monthly $4M we never even cared about saying hi
Our policy is just to keep the mogadishian glory going on and to attract the gulf and arab friends, we are just protecting our interests and this doesn't mean wanting unity or whatever...
