I dout anyone could kick Sharif Hassan out of Baidoa when he was protected by Ethiopian tanks.

I think he left, because he thought he was a danger to the movement. I also think the man elected is his personal puppet because no one heard of him and all the other candidates dropped out in favor of him right before the vote.

So maybe Sharif Hassan got his wish (after all he was the single driving force for 3-states) without being an obstacle to it and while being the hand behind the glove?
