OK, let me disclose that, personally I have not encountered any racism. (if it ever happened, perhaps I didn't notice it, I don't know--- maybe due to my high self esteem, and, delusional thoughts of being a nasaab Daroood noble, with habar yonis connection!)
Anyway, during the recession, I was forced to take another job. A sort of demotion, but I didn't think so, although the pay wasn't so bad, the environment certainly was. I am encircled by unrefined white people, Spanish, and, Africans. During my tenure in my job, I have become close to a few Africans, which is a treat, as I never had that exposure before. (seriously, lovely people, but too genuine and open for my taste. If u know, what I mean) Before I only had office relation with just entitled upper class white idiots who felt they need only work a few hours and get paid for 40 hours.
Anyway, I hate to digress, or talk in long stories. I have no patience for it. I will get to the point-- one of the Africans I became close to is a gentleman from Togo. Very kind hearted man, very smart, he used to be a teacher in togo, a university graduate who got lottery ticket to come to the US. Anyway, this man looks like a Dur'waa. ( I hope my spelling in aaf Somali is correct. ) He has a fanaax, he is extremely madoow not in the Sudanese extent, but very madoow nevertheless. He has a small head, that looked like that of an monkey, and is short with extremely menacing muscles. This man is intelligent, genuine, and very nice. But I see a lot of hate happening towards him. I think I have expressed it here before. When we go out to the restaurant, he is treated like a slave. They are openly rude to him, while all smiling and obliging to me. The treatment is starkly dissimilar. The cadaans at work always treat him bad, and always blame our mistakes or others on him. It seems like they rather see him suffer. This is really unusual walaahi. I have seen cadaan people literally get offended immediately after meeting him. They observe his face, which has tribal marks from the village, and they get offended.
Walaahi, as Somalis, we need to be thankful to Alaah swt, because our looks will save us from unnecessary antagonism. But all creatures are creatures of Alaah swt-- so what gives>
