Its not out of hate someone like me would state this wallahi, its out of love. I as a Somali person am genuinely concerned about the replacement of native Somalis numerically, when I state those things I am hoping in all honestly something is done, but no, to the average southern poster in here they think its a personal attack on them. God help us and help these people understand the gravity of the situation. Hawiye are mostly pure ethnic Somalis, its not blood them we're talking about but the ethnic minorities. Like how hard is that to understand?
Rahawein is not Bantu except some groups such as the Digil who came into direct contact with Jareerweyne and Hawiye in the southern regions specifically Shabelle and Jubbos.
Rahawein's true roots are in eastern Oromo (the Borana) and Somali tribes such as the Ogaden, Marehan and Dir clans. The Ogadens invaded them under their Garen rule and the rulers came from Barbara (Isaaq). These groups claimed supremacy over the Oromo.
They were Somalinized only in the 17th century. These Somali tribes used to invade their regions, kill off the men, adopt the children and marry the ladies as their own prize trophy wives. They eventually became large communities and in the process developed their Maay language, which is a mixture of pure Somali and Borana/Gabre.
Their true relatives are the Borana and Gabre.
The reason they became agriculturalist as compared to pastoralist is because these Somali tribes denied them the rights to move around so they had to settle and find a way to survive since all their livestock was taken and their men (who suppose to herd) were killed.
Oromo is not Bantu originally but rather Cushitic but the southern Oromo such as those in Illubabor, Jimma and Wellega came into contact with Bantu tribes such those today known as Southern Nationalities in Ethiopia including the Wolayta and Gurage.
The northern Oromo remain mixture of Cushitic and Habesha while eastern Oromo including Bale, Arsi and the Afran Qallo Hararghe remain Cushitic-Habesha-Somali.
Both in Ethiopia and Somali Peninsula...the more south one is the more Bantu he or she is...in both civilizations the pure race is in the very north away from Bantu contact. Finding few genotypes who climbed up the non-Bantu stream to the north does not support any argument. Individual movement varies but majority Bantu is always the south.
Hawiye is the most Bantu amongst the so called sons of Samale. The niiko culture is always popular with Hawiye and other Bantus. Bantu people are able to find common ground and interests much easier than a Bantu and a non-Bantu.
