One thing I support about ISIL/ISIS

Post by SultanOrder »

Is that they are erasing a hundred years of fake colonial borders legacy, set up by the British and French. It shows that after decades of imposed nationalism, things can be redrawn in the blink of an eye.

I don't, I think that it has led to many conflicts worldwide. And the weakening of people to prevent a threat to European Colonial powers.

PS, do you support the Hawd beinig part of Ethiopia, just because the British said so?

Why do you support the actions of those terrorists if you're not a terrorist as well?

Hawd and the reserve area was wrongfully ceded to Ethiopia but that's another story.

Because they represent a geopolitical shift that I support, a shift that I hope outlives them.

Nevertheless, the whole idea that hawd would be an entity able to be ceded or not is rooted in colonialism. Who gave the right for the British to claim the Hawd in the first place, and draw the borders as they wished?

You call it a geopolitical shift, I would say Arab imperialism manifesting itself in its truest form.

You can't simply make a connection between Isis who are colonialists themselves to anti colonial and post colonial movements.

The British broke the treaties they signed with my people in favor of the treaties signed with the Abyssinian Kingdom. They did not claim our land per se they gained access and in return the tribes who signed the treaties would get protection.

What do you mean by Arab imerialism?

For all intents an purposes, it was British Somaliland, and they had rule over to the rest of the world, that is why their borders and treaties were recognized.
