Why can't I wear shorts in Hargeisa?
I mean, it's hot.
Even had some young macalin dugsiga try to lecture me. Dude was 5 years older than me. I can handle odeys but come on.

Most guys get looked down on for shorts above the knees. You should know this? Lol unless you're in Berbera it's kind of basar xumo lol I know, it's lame.

Yea, they call you daqan celiis if you walk around with anything other than khamiis, macawiis or pants (jeans or dress). You'll get use to it.

That reminds me, there was a girl last summer who was walking dt in a hijab but with capris (pants that end in the middle of your calf), and she was arrested.
They held her over night
and her dad had to come get her the next morning. I would be mortified.

Hargeisa is pretty cool. But Lol, I thought the concept of men in Hindi Traditional Outfits on fridays was insanely untraditional. Not sure why you would want to wear shorts in cold-ass Hargeisa though, it's cold and extremely rainy. Some of the young locals would wear macawis, and wear shorts underneath, and usually lift up their macawis slightly up higher to let in some fresh air lol ...
