The way I see it the most high, the most benevolent has made men different from the women. I guess what I'm trying to say is the problem arises when the man wants to emulate the woman & visa versa. We were not meant to beautify our self & act ladylike with some of these metrosexual males running around confused weather they should pluck their eye brows or wear foundation. There is a blatant agenda to effeminize the man, I just feel it's inappropriate for a man to strut on a catwalk while being eyed up by gay men who also mainly design the clothes.

@cognative I understand that your religious views contradict this profession, but how is it emulating women when you aren't dressing like them. also gay men stare at you regardless when you live in a big city like this, they are everywhere. but this industry chooses the models that like the most MANLY and sell to MEN, feminizing them defeats the point. no offence to you because you sound like a really nice person, but to say that "we are meant to beautify ourselves sounds very backwards, if men decided to not groom themselves and look like a homeless person, who in the world would go near them? but i understand your point of view :) thanks for the input

I would say grooming oneself & wearing foundation are two very different things wouldn't you agree? To be frank my opinion & your opinion are irrelevant it's Unislamic period, unless of-coarse you're not a Muslim. Would you parade yourself on a cat walk scantily clad? Lol. if the answer is affirmative then I'll hold you in my prayers brother. Peace.

where are you from cognitive? also i understand your point, but its based beliefs that are very ancient and irrelevant in todays time. i am muslim but i don't view the world with my eyes closed relying on blind faith. have you ever seen what model actually does? its not all "run-ways" or whatever its a lot more than that, they get featured in everything. and have you ever met one? i imagine if your from a western world it shouldn't be too tough. btw my dad is from kismayo haha

appreciate your comment, thanks for the input. i feel as thought there aren't enough black men, much less somali who are apart of that world. especially because of the stigma attached to it. very unfortunate but hopefully the future generation has a more open mind

Why does it matter where Im from? Are you insinuating that people from the west are more secular then others? If that's the case then I'm sorry to disappoint you, born & raised in old blighty mate but I'm well grounded in my faith Alhamdulillah. Let's just agree to disagree.
