So it was to do with a neighborhood argument that got out of hand? And what's "being detained under the Mental Health Order"? Does that mean the Somali guy had mental illness?

You are asking how many years he could get for a murder? If the laws in Ireland are similar to the ones here in here and he pleads insanity (wuu waalnaa cml), he could probably do 5-10yrs and be out.

Its northern ireland not the republic of ireland . I think its criminal laws are the same or similar to other uk states. 5 to 10 years sounds fair my cousin was high on drugs when he committed the crime and he is in fact mentally not stable person. If they do a proper psychiatric evaluation I am sure they will find that he is mentally ill .

he may detained in mental hospital for x amount of years . there is somali guy who is in mental instatution for 10 years. he killed his friend while they were drunk.
