Since you are not in Somalia and clearly do not read or watch news that come from 'Wanlaweyn' I will excuse you for your lack of ignorance. SFG has two ministries that deal with the Somali sea. These include the ministry of defence and the ministry of fishery and marine.

SFG allocates a number of navy guards from the Somali regions including Puntland and are trained in the capital by the EU and there are some that are trained in Djibouti also by the EU. There is a small national navy that the SFG has and they are mostly stationed in Mogadishu, Baraawe, Marka and Kismaayo. Though the bulk of them are in the capital Mogadishu.

Also all this praises you singing about Puntland, you need to remember that Puntland come under SFG and they get their share of the development through SFG. So no point separating Puntland with the rest of Wanlaweyn, there success is wanlaweyn success, they are part and parcel.

Obviously the SFG has more pressing issues such as battling with Al-Shabaab and the federal state formation and fixing the politics. So there isn't so much resource when it comes to the Sea defence. However as the years go on and things get more settled, this will become different.

These are the latest news about SFG's work towards the Somali sea. The SFG with the help of FAO are planning to establish 6 satellite stations in 6 coastal regions to catch and record any illegal fishing or toxic waste.
