What is going on in Wajir? I just saw this on The Star today.
Are the Kenyati doing in North Eastern what they did at Coast; the GSU assassinations??
The amount of government violence directed at this county since independence is unbelievable!!

Re: Lamagoodle soo gal ninyahow!!
Bro, something horrible is happening in the NFD. The somalis there are faced with the cancer of alshabaab on the one hand and the Kenyan government forces on the other. Al-shabaab has undertaken heinous crimes against non-somali Kenyans. They have murdered innocent Kenyans (students, xamaalato) to induce a Kenyan reaction. The Kenyan government forces have embraced the same kind of method as the Shifta days. They murder ppl ( several ppl have disappeared in Garissa and Mandera) only to be found dead elsewhere (one of them was a relative of Ducaale, the speaker of the parliament). Two days ago, three bodies were found in Beled xaawo border of young men who were taken in for questioning by the authorities; their hands tied. One of them survived. He is suffering from diabetics and he went into a coma. They took him for dead.
It seems that Kenya has fallen into the trap laid by Al-sheydhaan.
I think the best strategy for Kenya is to leave somalia.

I think they found the body of a Garissa sheikh last year too.
It seems that they are just reacting with violence, thinking that Alshabab can be dealt with like Pwani Si Kenya or the Mombasa radical sheikhs.
Alshabab are apparently good at playing the ethnic politics of Kenya. They must have some people who are very savvy about it internal weakness.

Yes, several bodies have been found. A curfew was imposed too.thegoodshepherd wrote:I think they found the body of a Garissa sheikh last year too.

Kenya's number 1 problem is actually corruption.
The operations in the NFD including the curfew and rounding of ppl will only lead to enriching the pockets of some officials.
I read somewhere that it is not even ethnic somalis that carryout some of the deplorable actions of Al-shabaab; for instance the Garissa massacre ( 3/4 were non-somalis) even the Mandera massacres (non-somalis).
What the Kenyan government is doing will only play into the hands of Al-sheydhaan. A better strategy is to leave Somalia (the invasion was based on false info). The opposition is calling for this.
I really don't understand how the Kenyan government could be this stupid? Al-sheydhaan as you mentioned knows the history of the NFD and the general somali view that Kenya is a colonial power.
BTW, read this article saaxib if you have the time. It captures alot of issues
