"Intersectional Feminist"????

Post by gegiroor »

In Twitter, many Somali girls are describing themselves as "intersectional feminist". Does anyone know what they mean?

@Tanikaze,

Twitter is a communication medium which you can get more information than other places. For instance, news, events, job advertisements, business marketing, and many more. It is also used as a networking medium. Besides, there are more Somalis there than here.

Now, the thing that strucked me was I was going to Somalis that I am connected to, and after doing some search, I come across thing this term , "Intersectional Feminist". I get the term feminist thing, but could not get what they mean "intersectional". I found it weird and funny!

Are you a sister or brother, if you don't mind me asking?

They're basically stating that they are feminists, but not the traditional kind. They are adamantly against White feminists and they connect their "struggle" to different layers of "oppression", such as racism, homophobia, and xenophobia.

This will all make your head hurt. These Twitter feminists are confused souls who use sociology terms to discuss Somali issues.

Wallahi they remind me NEVER to allow my kids to take some bullshit sociology course in university. Never ever

Audhu Billahi Minashaitani Rajeem.

If that is what they mean, I will definitely warn anyone that I know of to stay away from them and from that dangerous terminology.

It is the pinnacle of a victimhood mentality. They believe that there are different layers of oppression, and that Somali women in the West are subjected to several layers of oppression.

It makes absolutely zero sense. And it's the unfortunate result of these low-IQ morons taking sociology classes in university

Stage 1:

growing up forced to go dugsi

stage 2: graduates from high school

stage 3: applies to a humanities course and qaxoonti aabo and hooyo are like " okey aslong as you get a degree"

stage 4: graduates with a indoctrinated mind

stage 5: if it gets bad enough they end up leaving Islam, becoming bisexual or lesbians/homos (this applies to both faraxs and xalimos)
