current friction...

Post by waryaa »

Hi guys,

Can we use this thread as means to discuss (not argue/insult) about the current friction.

I bear my share of the blame because the "Warn" feature doesnt work for some of the mods which led to public or PM interaction between forum terms violators and the mods.

Do you use vulgar language or leave here hate material? then you need to learn how to respect others who don't agree with you. It is wrong to insult a group of ppl because one individual rubbed u the wrong way. Please read the guidelines.

For the rest of us, do you feel home when you come to snet? if not, pls tell us what are we doing wrong and how can we correct it? All childish and hate posts will be deleted.

Old timers who PMed me, pls add your feedback...

I know what we, mods do wrong: we interact with members and sometimes use politically incorrect language which sounds like a threat to some. Moderating is like being a judge, we cannot quarrel with someone publicly and ban them at the same time. hat's a bummer..

All troll will be deleted...

"Moderating is like being a judge"

No, waryaa---I seriously disagree, on intellectual level, and on silly level too ! LOL Mods just need to butt out!!!!!! I am here more than 10 years--- I have been called all sorts of names-- not even once did I send a private message to a mod to complain! Not once!!!!!!

Let us be free! No guidelines! Jungle Style. Qabil slaughter. Blood fest. Orgasms! Please !!! Get Real!

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Basra, but she's absolutely right. The less moderation, the better.

Your mods are not like judges. They are the judge, the jury and the executioner. If you are interested in being fair, then LJ & Lamagoodle should be removed as moderators for unfairly banning members they don't like and/or agree with ( Solidcamel being the latest victim of this witch hunt).

Let's be serious for once.

Certain mods ban people without warning. FAH himself said earlier that we must give members 3 warnings and a ban.

As the owner of the website you should talk to your mods before all the members disappear. This isn't North Korea. Everyone on this website is grown. If trolls are given 3 warnings then I am sure they would change their ways but banning people for no apparent reason or because you disagree with them doesn't resolve anything. People will come with vengeance and it will be a lose lose situation.

Even if a warning system is implemented, these two mods will abuse the system to get their way ( get people they don't like banned). I thought LJ was level-headed of the two, but today I realized how far gone he is. We the people demand LJ and Lamagoodle be removed! :ugeek:

tnx ladies,

buranb, do u think that member was banned just because he disagreed with them?

Idm, I never said I own snet. Yes, I run the site though. What do you honestly like or hate about the guidelines. If ppl agree on the guidelines then enforcing forum rules is much easier than many of us think. Mods go by the book. If some1 insults other members or others then they have the obligation to deal with that member.

Warya opened a Pandora box, good luck Ina Adeer rationalising with your customers. Somalinet is the only website that allows its members to debate any given topic. The problem arises when members unionise (qabiil) themselves into groups and defend their fellow members rightfully or wrongfully. People here will always complain of the moderators regardless of who they are. Wish you well reasoning with your clients.

Waryaa, if you're serious about fixing anything then do this:

Decrease the amount of moderators. Remove Lamagoodle, AbdiWahab252, SmileLikeSunRise and LeJusticier as moderators. Bring back Gegiroor and the rest of the members that were wrongfully banned. That's your solution, take it or leave it.

Mods, I can't believe you banned my cousin, SolidCamel. Might I add, he's more of a neutral member. Even more so than yours truly. He did nothing but make an inquiry about why Kaafiye and Gegiroor were banned. Although I find this rather upsetting, I will commend you on banning ChiefKimbo. He needed to be let go for mischief making.

Machiavelli2, it is a cycle that comes around every couple of years. @ the end of the day, we take this feedback and debate among the mods.

26, are u a regular member with a new nick?

Sofi, what did he do?

Waryaa,

Yes, Solidcamel was banned by LJ for opening a topic LJ didn't like. This was after Fah told LJ to give three warnings before outright banning people.

I don't think you're genuine in fixing the problems on this website. This forum would cease to exist without its members, so give the people what they want and remove those two moderators.

I don't think you post on any forum other than Somalinet. I do and Somalinet is by far the most heavily moderated forum that I've ever been a member of. Furthermore, this is a public forum and waryaa does not OWN Somalinet in the sense that you think he does. He pays for both the domain name and web hosting service, both of which are under terms of service/use. He has rules he must follow as well.
