Somali women can marry who they want.
Alxamdulillah Somali citizenship is not accessible to Ajnabis with Somali Reer Apti.
As for the Somali fellas waxa wasi kartan wasa, kulu waxid yarjac ila aslhi wa qabiltahi.

Nothing better then sticking to your ur own kind even if the foreigner is a good muslim. Wuxuu isku dhaqaan manihin. And whoever refuses their daughter a good somali muslim brotha because of qabil is a jahil of the worst kind.

Osob, isn't it contradictory to state that you are for endogamy in the Somali ethnic group whilst simultaneously hoping that your Kurdish sons bring Somali girls home?

So your parents were happy you married outside?Osob101 wrote:COOL-MAN
Quick to judgement I see. I suggest you go read what lead to what I said in the thread. I have never ever told anyone in my family circle or friends to marry a certain clan or not but am also realistic and would advise if it was my sibling or friend if that will be loosing their family.
If me marrying who am married to today would have caused me my mother and father approval and than I would have never married who I did point blank.
I am asking this because I would like to know what was their initial reaction when you first mentioned the Turkish man to them?
As for marrying him and bearing him kids, it was your destiny walal. Calaf lama celini karo.
Anyways, I only judged what was quoted which contradicted what you were saying here.
sorry if it was quoted out of context. I did not follow the rest of discussion.

No, not really. Most interracial relationships I know of never work out for more than 5 years especially the ones that involve converts.

Perhaps you have reading comprehension problems, walal. I never accused you that you claimed everyone should marry their own clan. Rather, what I said was you yourself would clearly never do so by your own admission and clearly your family would have a problem with it. But, on the other hand, you have no problem marrying an Ajnabi and clearly neither do your parents. Is any of what I just stated a blatant misrepresentation, or is it completely accurate based on that post of yours quoted in the other thread along with the posts you've made in this thread with these new revelations?Osob101 wrote:"my parents have never told me to avoid any Clan" isn't that exactly what I said in here and I dare you bring me anyone who will never try to please their my family. Again bring me an ounce of evidence where I ever said everyone should marry in their clan as you accused me off?

You're making it sound like this never happens, despite the fact everyone in this thread can at least attest to one instance of this. You can call me crazy as much as you'd like, but its clear that your parents (like most Somali parents) are qabilisteyal who would much rather prefer your sister being married to a deadbeat ajnabi than that respectable Somali Muslim man. I almost 100% sure of that based on what I've observed of the diaspora in the major Western countries.Osob101 wrote:And Yeah my sister got disowned for marrying a respectable Somali Muslim man mashallah. No it is not a contradictory just because I married a non Somali does not mean I stop being one and favoring them. One can not predict their destiny or future but if I could than obviously I will always favor a Somali man over a Non-Somali yet I married a Non-Somali because that's what Allah planned for me and am happy with my husband alhamduillah. As for my son's Yes absolutely I would love them marry Somali Girl yet I can not predict who they will bring to me and honestly even my own Husband say's he would prefer to bring Somali girls home.zumaale wrote:Osob, isn't it contradictory to state that you are for endogamy in the Somali ethnic group whilst simultaneously hoping that your Kurdish sons bring Somali girls home?

My parents reaction was the same as every parent who has a child. Is he Muslim, Does he pray, does he have a family, will you be happy with him, the usual questions. As stated my parents knew my husband over 15 years as a child as we were neighbours, schoolmates and University mates. Our Parents knew each other from the Mosque and Eid gatherings.COOL-MAN wrote:So your parents were happy you married outside?Osob101 wrote:COOL-MAN

My half German cousins are a confused bunch. They unfortunately hail from two highly qabilist peoples: Germans and Somalis. Both hate 'diversity' and believe they are superior to everyone else.
I think interqabiil marriages can work if you are establish boundaries: don't expect the other to attend your clan rallies, to carve out personal time for clan gatherings, and to develop a think skin for kaftaan from the in laws.
