Re: personality disorder
Ina Adeer, I hate giving advice on forums but since you are a decent, honest and a principled person I've decided to break my own rules and give you my two cents. But before I do, be warned that none of us here is an expert on these issues and our subjective views is what we have learnt from personal skills that may not apply to your condition or some TV shows.Theguardian wrote:I think I have personality disorder....
One minute I am super nice and out of nowhere I can be nasty... Usually it triggered by small things people around me do. I try so hard to maintain my nice side but at times it can be so difficult.
Now, at the past I lost few friends due to this - one of them told me " you have switchable personality" thankfully, my husband to be - somehow doesn't seem to notice this... Maybe because he doesn't upset me or get the wrong side of me. But I am scare- one day I will switch on him.
Since you've mentioned you think that you might be suffering from a personality disorder and you are getting married soon and your hubby is in the dark, I will advise you to seek a professional help before your nupital. Marriage is not a never ending honeymoon, disagreements do occur, some expectations will not be delivered certain times and serious challenges may arise. What is required is an open line of communications and skilful compromises to be made to avoid joining the ranks of single-parents. How will your hubby deal with your mood swings, if he had no prior knowledge of your condition?
It will be too late to tell him when the going gets tough and he might consider that you hid from him a serious mental illness and your condition might exacerbate when every eeddo, habaryar of his and your neighbours start gossiping within the community. Now, it isn't a serious condition, see a professional, be open and honest to them, once they tell you the diagnosis, immediately involve your other significant half and he will be aware of your prognosis and what triggers your condition or how to handle it once it's triggered. At-least, you are sincere and attempted to include him for a long journey of blissful life. We Somalis, furitaanka waa sidii koob shaah la cabayo, how many of these were the result of mental conditions such as this? Boqolaalo mise kummaan?
Adeer, waan ku soo duceeyey, seek help, involve him, do things together, communicate well before crisis, try hard, enjoy life and Inshallah, things will work for both of you.
Re: personality disorder
The G- I obviously don't know what you're like outside of Snet but from what I've seen from you on here you seem like a chilled out, rational human being who wouldn't hurt a fly so to think you have a temper is quite amusing to me lol.
Anyway, even if you have a slight temper listen to some Qur'an and whenever you feel you're becoming angry make wadu as Iblis is made from fire and water extinguishes fire.
I'm sure your husband to-be will be more than understanding Insh'Allah.
Edit- I highly doubt you have any sort of disorder. As women we ALL have mood swings from time to time so don't over worry yourself.

Machavieli and inaaya and Roble said it all.
I doubt you have anything worth a specialist attention. What you describe above is normal human tendency. Don't we all switch from good to bad tempers from time to time. Was caadi huuno.
A Happy Union by the way
