I think that explains why most religious societies are less productive and progressive than secular or moderate ones. when you place every thing in to the hands of God then people will not work hard in this world trying to better their life/society/health/country etc. There is nothing wrong with following your religion but don't cast aside everything in this life because this life is temporary. As Gurey said God helps those who help themselves. Doing dua everyday for a new hospital or road will no happen until you work with others to build one.
